琳儿姑娘的心情预报: 晴

It has been 5 days into my new job and I am liking it. My immediate supervisor is a very nice, gentle lady who really made me feel welcome on my first day. Initially, I thought I would be directed verbally to collect my stationery, laptop or request for any access myself and running around the big company like a blind mouse, but it turned out that my immediate supervisor took the effort to do it together with me.. It is hard for me to describe the feeling, but I really feel welcomed, and well-taken care of. And And And, my dad sent me to work on my first day too!

Colleagues are nice too and all of them asked me out for lunch everyday, and treat me as if I have joined them for very long. Perhaps the environment here is different, the people here do not give me the feeling that they are competing with one another to to climb up the corporate ladder.

If there is any complaints, it will be the distance from my house to the company and the inaccessibility. I have to wake up an hour earlier now in order to catch the company bus and to give myself some leeway to settle down before doing actual work. The good thing is that, the working hour is flexible. The management gives us the trust that we will manage our time well – which is what I like too.

Hope I will continue to like this company..keeping my finger crossed!

I am looking forward to this coming Saturday. It is Mr Lim’s 29th Birthday and I have booked a hotel room, a buffet dinner to celebrate his birthday…also a mini break (though we just returned from a trip to Korea!) without his parents’ presence. Haha.
